CREATIVE MORNINGS : COLOR
As the inaugural blog post feature on our recently refreshed site, we thought it might be fitting to fall in step with the Creative Mornings most recent theme....and subsequently feature our own take on the subject.
There is no escaping the marriage between good design and color. It plays a significant role in shaping everything from sketches to final product and can ultimately make or break a concept. Or a consumer's buying decision.
We are always on the lookout for inspiring and unique applications of color, whether it's used to highlight a technology, tell a story, or evoke an emotion. (That being said, color is also a very subjective experience, so the science of selecting the *right color can be very, well, unscientific). Case in point, this example I stumbled onto during a recent image hunt for a client presentation. The "Papyrus" Chairs, by Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec via Wallpaper. In this example, the application of color makes me want to buy all five of these chairs...not just one...much to the chagrin of my bank account.
There's no shortage of points for reference, not only in the world of fashion and apparel design but across all industries... in nature and on the street. That being said, we'd love to hear your sources for color inspiration! And in the meantime, you can check out some of ours on our Pinterest site.
